I have a goal for myself: I need to explore L.A. more. It’s hard for me to fit in time to explore the city in between studying and doing other projects, but if I graduate and leave L.A. before seeing all of the things that I can see, I will regret it to death.
So I’m going to put my bucket list up here to hold myself accountable (lol). I’ll cross out the places that I’ve visited and upload a couple photos on here.
This should be a fun journey!
- Mandatory hike to the Hollywood Sign (I’ve actually done this before, but it was so foggy that we didn’t get a photo with the sign – it was actually covered by the fog…)
(Do you see the Hollywood Sign at the back? Yeah, me neither.)
- Melrose Avenue – Paul Smith pink wall: THE MANDATORY PHOTO TO HAVE WHEN YOU LIVE IN L.A. I DON’T CARE HOW BASIC THIS IS
- Melrose Avenue – LA Wings (Another mandatory shot)
- Melrose Avenue – “Made in LA” Wall
- Museum of Broken Relationship
- LACMA (I’ve also been here before, but it was 3:00 AM in the morning, solely to take photos with the lamp posts. I want to go inside next time)
- Carizzo Plains
- Runyon Canyon Hike
- Pink’s Hot Dogs
- Six Flags Amusement Park (because apparently the roller coasters are awesome)
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Big Bear Lake
- Catalina Island
- Venice Canals
- The Grove
- Griffith Park Hike Trail
Hammer Museum (it’s literally so close – but I never go there for some reason)
Finally went to the Hammer Museum to take photos with a friend – honestly it was such a short and simple trip (super fun though), and I don’t know why I haven’t done it sooner.
- Mikawaya – Japanese Village Plaza (I don’t know why this is in my bucket list, but I guess I’ll go there)
- Saffron and Roses at Westwood (another place that’s literally really close but somehow I never went)
- The Fashion District – Downtown L.A.
- The Art District – Downtown L.A. (gotta get those photos with the street art)
- Olvera Street
- Vista Hermosa Park
- Polka Dot Wall (?) – The Springs, Art District
- Mondrian Wall at Artist & Craftsman Supply (especially after taking that Art History course in Winter Quarter)
- Culver City – the Love Wall (also I want to get some Indo food)
- China Town
- Salvation Mountain
Will I be able to visit all of these places in a year? Probably not. Let’s see how many I can check off this list though!
